'You're Evil. Evil Ones Have No Souls.'

She closed her eyes, focusing on all the various people of her life - Snow White, Graham, Sydney, the Saviour, Daniel, Cora, Zelena, Robin, Henry. Different emotions ran through her all at once.

Anger.
Hatred.
Vengeance.
Frustration.
Depression.
Disappointment.
Happiness.

...Love.

She had to bite her tongue to stifle the bitter laugh that she almost laughed. Henry was the only one who could break her heart and get away with it. Her son (great grandson?) was the truest love of her life. Daniel, Graham, Robin...all so temporary . They all left her in pieces, and she couldn't put those pieces together because she was too busy wallowing in her own damned revenge mission to worry about love . Her own mother told her love was weakness. So why bother? She thought her happy ending was Snow White's life's ending.

She inhaled a sharp breath and opened her eyes. She could feel it.

Feel what, you ask?

Why, magic, of course.

She saw her soul right in front of her, glaring the baked beans out of her.

"You wanna tell me why the hell I'm here, or are we just gonna dilly dally around?" She asked. Regina rolled her eyes.

"Wow. Was I that big a jerk back then?" She asked herself.

"What do you want, dear?" Her soul asked her in a threatening tone.

"I want you. Back in my body. You left the minute Daniel died, and I've been soulless ever since." Regina answered. Her soul chuckled.

"You don't understand, do you?" She started off. Regina furrowed her eyebrows, unsure of what her soul was referring to. " You're Evil. Evil ones have no souls. They lose them when they turn evil. You're no better than the Dark One - if anything, you're weaker! You think just because you tried to change and have Henry, you're worthy of your soul now? Forget it, sister. It'll happen over your dead body."

Regina pursed her lips and looked down. It was like she was doomed to be alone, unhappy, unstable. Why have such a life? People don't know her as Regina. They know her as the Evil Queen.

Then...something clicked in her mind.

"But if I lost my soul...then why are you here when I summoned you?" Regina asked. Her soul stared at Regina...and then smirked.

"What can I say? Either I couldn't resist paying myself a visit..."

"...Or there's still hope. I can change. I can be better. I don't have to be Evil!" Regina grinned.

And so, the rest of the day commenced, with the broody munchkin asking the former-mayor why she was smiling so much and repeatedly calling her 'sister'...
